Taking a small break from my usual entries on this TN blog as to talk about the recent floods in TN. First of all them hitting us really got me thinking. I am caring so much about a place I've been at for almost 3 yrs. And I realize now why. I LOVE Nashville! I love it so much. Its gotten uner my skin. It makes me cry every day to see our beautiful cities get flooded, lives recked and lost. Places we loved to visit. Everything that makes Nashville great is flooded.
But why do I love it the most? Why do I look forward to coming back and hoping to volunteer after our trip to California in a week? Because of this: The people. They dont call TN the Volunteer state for nothing. People are giving. In a state hurting SO many are giving. Money and time and such. People helping others out. Putting them above themselves.
They arent all Christians though I know some are. But they are truly "loving their neighbors above themselves" giving giving giving.
So if you wanna know why I love this state its cause of the people. I want to come back, I want to stay and help. So why did I move to TN? The people! I love Nashville simply because of that. And who we are :))
Prayers for Nashville and TN we will get through this and be much stronger after :))

The Tennessee Diaries Day 4
After we were FORCED to stay in AZ over night. What a pain in the butt that was we had to be on our way by a certain time or management came and kicked us out. Or the maids did. But we didnt care. What could we do? U-Haul was LATE! You got it! Here we were all packed up but we couldnt go till they looked at our little problem with the tail light. All this took an extra hour. And so we didnt get out of the Motel 6 till about 2pm. And they want you out by "11am". Whatever! We checked out and were gone SO GLAD!
Our lunch that day was KFC. We loved it! What a tasty treat for lunch. Yummy. I love KFC. And of course Rainbow got to lick up the crumbs ;)
New Mexico was our quickest trip through a state so far. We went through with little stops. But I was sadly missing the WELCOME signs I wanted to collect them instead I got to see them as we *breezed* by them. Ha. It was a lot of Indian Stuff and much like AZ desert!
Our last issue with NM came at night. We had to stop and get food. Well we thought Arbys would be open. NO! They closed early but the drivethru open. We laughed at that one. We had a U-Haul not a regular car! Oh and NM NOTE TO SELF: No grass! There wasnt anywhere for Rainbow to go. She wouldnt go in the dirt that we did find so she ended up peeing in the U-Haul while we ate inside. That wasnt a fun thing to clean up mind you GROSS AND SMELLY!
So cause Arbys not open and drive-thru out we went onto Wendys. It was next door and easy to do. Inside we asked mom to please ask for some extra money from our aunt & uncle so we could get gas. Our little gas credit card wasnt doing us much good we kept finding little places to use it at. Therefore any "extra" money we had (which wasnt much!) was being eaten up by us getting gas at none-credit places. Mom got us another $200 we prayed it would be enough.
The rest of the night we drove through NM all the way to Texas. Now we arrived at Motel 6 in TX. The top half of Texas took us a total of 5hrs to cross. If you ever seen the way its shaped that LITTLE area is 5hrs worth of driving thank you very much!
At 5am we arrived at TX Motel 6. It was so cold thought we would freeze to death while checking in...
Now Day 5 is another thing all together.
THIS JOURNEY IS NEARLY DONE! Read my next entry on Day 5 of our trip to TN. :)
