Day two and on we go. Sorta We didnt get to sleep till the end of the first day of our trip. Moving us up to not getting asleep till early November 4th 2007. We slept all day not waking up much till the night of Nov 4th. We got up and got Denny's. It was such a nice treat!
On November 5th we got up and began our journey again very early. We were off to Arizona at last. We left the little town of Needles CA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Needles,_California
Now onto the real journey was Arizona. I have seen Arizona only from the airports so let me say it truly is desert Lots of it! Cactus no joke but its beautiful. Unfortunetly with our time problems we werent able to even glance at the Grand Canyon. Oh we knew it was there. Just off the freeway we saw the signs. But we couldnt look at it, no we had to keep going.
The trip through Arizona would have been quick and easy. Our plans were to keep going till New Mexico and then stop for the night. Well I am guessing here but I think God had other plans for us. Sadly our taillight went out on the trailer for the car, and with that problem we had to stop in a motel 6 and stay the night there. The U-Haul company would come out the next day so we HAD to stop the night.
Standing in the McDonald's waiting to find out the news and we had to stay, I looked at Mel and said " I am tired of being slapped around so much. We get up and get slapped down again!" At that time we didnt know if it was God telling us to stop going, or the devil dragging us down. We just knew we had to keep going. And we were stuck in AZ again! So we used that night to sleep and eat and try to relax. Best we could.
AZ is wonderful at night freezing actually or very cold. I recall pulling all our stuff out going here we go again. We had just 2 more stops for this credit card I had on me, it wouldnt go past 4 hotel stays so we werent happy doing a second one this far in!
